Investigators said they've been watching Phongsavanh Oriental Market, for more than a month following allegations of criminal activity at the business and Thursday afternoon they executed a search warrant.

GREENSBORO, N.C.-- After a month long investigation into illegal activities at a business, Greensboro Police arrested two people and the City has moved to close the market.

Friday, the City of Greensboro said they revoked the privilege license of the Phonsavanh Oriental Market.

According to officials, the revocation of the business license means the market must close immediately. However, the owners of the market can appeal to the City of Greensboro Board of Adjustment and the business can remain open pending the appeal.

Investigators said they've been watching Phongsavanh Oriental Market, for more than a month following allegations of criminal activity at the business and Thursday afternoon they executed a search warrant.

Police executed a search warrant on Phongsavanh Oriental Market after reports of criminal activity.

Police said they received reports of illegal gambling at the business and established the probable cause through covert and overt methods, including surveillance of the business, before they executed the warrant.

Siphonexay Phongsavanh, 45, and his wife, Sengnalone Phongsavanh, 41 were arrested at the scene, police said. They are facing charges of Illegal Sports Betting, Maintaining a Dwelling for Schedule I and Schedule VI Narcotics, Felony Conspiracy, Possession of Schedule I Narcotics, Possession Schedule VI Narcotics, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

WFMY News 2 obtained court records that show this business is no stranger to legal issues. In the past two months, the business has been searched three times by police. One of those searches was in March. That raid resulted in the arrest of Sengnalone Phongsavanh, and the store's owner, Keodaoheaung Phongsavanh.

Keodaoheaung Phongsavanh was charged with PWISD Marijuana, Traffick in Methamphetamine, Conspire to Traffic Methamphetamine, and Conspiracy to Sell/Deliver Marijuana.

Sengnalone Phongsavanh was charged with PWISD Marijuana, Electronic Sweepstakes, Gambling, Conspire Traffic Methamphetamine, Conspiracy to Sell/Deliver Marijuana. She was also charged in April with Electronic Sweepstakes and Gambling.

According to the search warrant issued in March, police seized meth, marijuana, sandwich bags, gambling slips, books, receipts, vacuum sealer and bags, large digital scale, laptop and cell phone, small digital scale, blue cooper, prescriptions pills, case and small bags.
