Greensboro, N.C. -- Hundreds of people came out to participate in the 19th Greensboro Jewish Community's Annual Mitzvah Day on Saturday.

Over the past nineteen years, members of Greensboro's Jewish community have participated in what is known as Mitzvah Day. This day is used to participate in volunteer projects through out the city. They wish to help people in need regardless of religion, race, or creed.

This year's event brought out close to 700 volunteers of all ages from the Jewish community. Volunteers were divided into groups and given volunteer assignments.

Mitzvah Day recipients include the Greensboro Children's Museum, Backpack Beginnings, and many more. Volunteers participated in over 30 projects that included tasks such as cleaning, gardening, painting, creating arts and crafts with children, visiting the home bound, serving meals, and many more.
