WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A man charged with murdering his partner and embezzling money from a Triad hospital will spend the rest of his life in prison.

On Monday, Steven Tisdale accepted a plea deal by pleading guilty to killing his partner (Robert Bowie) and also to embezzling more than $100,000 from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Tisdale's attorney David Freedman told WFMY News 2 Judge Ron Spivey, sentenced Tisdale to life without parole. He was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $114,000 to Baptist Medical Center.

The case began in February 2013. Tisdale was arrested after deputies went to his home to serve a warrant on him for missing a scheduled court date on the embezzling charges. While at the house, deputies found a body inside. The person was later identified as Robert Bowie, Tisdale's partner.

Deputies said Tisdale was not at the home and they later issued an all points bulletin (APB) for him. About two weeks later he was located and arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was extradited to North Carolina shortly after.
