13 students were on the bus traveling from Pleasant Garden Elementary, but none were injured according to the N.C. Highway Patrol.

PLEASANT GARDEN, N.C. -- Troopers said no students were injured after an accident involving a school bus in Pleasant Garden Thursday afternoon.

Dispatchers with Guilford Metro Communications told WFMY News 2 that the accident happened around 2:45 p.m. at 5700 Hagan Stone Park Rd.

13 students were on the bus at the time of the accident according to Trooper D.B. Garland. He said the driver of the bus was charged with reckless driving.

Garland said the bus driver ran off the road and tried to overcorrect. The driver then went down a slight embankment, hit a tree on Craftsman Lane, and drove into an open field.

Officers with N.C. Highway Patrol are investigating.
