HAW RIVER, N.C. – Community members gathered to raise money to help the family of the boy born without a diaphragm.

The event, "Rooting for Ryland", was Sunday at Lamb's Chapel in Haw River.

Ryland Braxton was born May 31, 2013. He has an artificial diaphragm that doctors will need to replace multiple times as he grows.

Each week, Ryland has two doctors appointment. Funds from Sunday's event will go toward pre-paid gas cards to help with traveling costs.
