GREENSBORO, NC -- The Guilford County Sheriff's office is looking for your kids!
No, they're not in trouble. But if you want your kids to stay active and keep learning all summer long, the Sheriff's Office has two great opportunities for them.
If you want your kids to stay active and keep learning all summer long, the Guilford Co. Sheriff's Office has two great opportunities for them.
"Operation Safe County" starts June 16 at Vandalia Christian School. These classes consist of five, free half-day sessions for kids.
The classes are designed to give kids in Guilford County skills to avoid dangerous situations, while enjoying a fun summer-camp-like atmosphere.
The deadline for registration is June 10, 2014.
And the Sheriff's Youth Academy starts Monday, June 23. This is for kids, who are interested in learning more about law enforcement operations within the Guilford County Sheriff's Office.
According to Cpl. Bryan Herndon, one of the goals of the Youth Academy is to form a positive interest in law enforcement and to heighten the awareness of being a good citizen.
The program is also free, but space is limited. The deadline to apply is this Thursday, June 12.
For information on both of these opportunities and to register, call (336) 641-3378 or e-mail at SheriffCPO@co.guilford.nc.us.
