GREENSBORO, N.C. – If you saw a lot of smoke Thursday in the area of Barham Road, it was just a training exercise!
The Greensboro Fire Department hosted live fire training from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
18 rookies in the 66th recruit class got out of the classroom for a live burning session.
The exercise gave firefighters the chance to gain valuable practice and experience before having to respond to real calls.
Firefighters told residents to expect heavy amounts of smoke in the area, but said it did not pose a hazard.
