GREENSBORO, N.C.--City leaders in Greensboro, including council member Sharon Hightower and Neighborhood Development Director Barbara Harris, gave an update on the Heritage House.

They also did a room-by-room inspection of the building to identify any code enforcement issues. In a news release the city said this is a first step toward finding a sustainable solution to the ongoing issues at the property.

Agencies involved in today's efforts include Greensboro police, fire, neighborhood development (code enforcement division), and engineering and inspections departments, along with the North Carolina Department of Labor, Guilford County Animal Control, and the Guilford County Health Department.

City leaders and law enforcement have been working together for the past couple of years to address problems at that apartment building.
