GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. – A 17-year-old was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Whitsett Thursday night.

Troopers with the N.C. Highway Patrol told WFMY News 2's Tony Smith Samantha Roberts was walking with a friend on Rock Creek Dairy Road around 9:30 p.m. when a car hit her.

Robert's mother told WFMY News 2 her daughter can't walk because her pelvic bone was broken along with her elbow. Cone Health doctors expect Roberts to spend months in therapy.

Troopers are looking for a green late model Honda Accord with one of the side mirrors missing. Anyone with information should call the N.C. Highway Patrol at (919) 733-7952.
