HIGH POINT, N.C. -- High Point police have charged a man with attempting to kill his girlfriend Monday morning.
Officers say at approximately 8 a.m., they received a 911 call about an assault at a home on Barbee Avenue. Police arrived to find Tendai Eva Masango had been stabbed multiple times. Police say they believe Masango's boyfriend, 48-year-old Jesse Williams, broke into Masango's home to assault her.
Police say Williams left the scene, but police later found and arrested him. He is charged with attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He is in the Guilford County Jail under a $1 million bond.
Police say both Masango and Williams were hurt in the assault. Williams was treated and released. Police say Masango was treated for her injuries at an area hospital and is expected to recover.
