CLEMMONS, N.C. – "Go in like Goliath and fight like David," was what Jonah's parents said to the 14 year-old battling cancer.
Jonah Hammett fought anaplastic ganglioglioma for two years until his passing on May 8 and his teammates are making sure he is never forgotten.
Friday night, the Southwest Forsyth Little League honored him by retiring his jersey and hanging his number next to one of the scoreboards. Friends said he loved baseball, but his love for God was stronger than his love for the game.
More than 250 people came out Friday to honor him Jonah Friday.
