MORRISVILLE, N.C. -- A sister's bond is like no other, and despite being apart for 70 years two sisters now know what it's like to have each other once again.

The story of Deva Buttram and Nancy Hansen goes back to a day their mother abandoned them at a Montana boarding house. At the time Deva was only a few months old and Nancy was one. Their mother later returned but only for Nancy, leaving Deva behind at the boarding house.

According to WRAL, the sisters searched for years for one another. Deva reached out to a reporter who helped her find Nancy through their brother's obituary. The two sisters have been talking over the phone for the past two months.

Now, fast-track to Wednesday evening where the moment arrived at Raleigh-Durham International Airport where the two sisters wouldn't have to wait any longer to hug each other again.

Nancy flew in from Phoenix, Arizona and couldn't believe her sister after all these years, was standing right in front of her.

Deva had a bouquet of flowers waiting for Nancy's arrival.

Deva said, "Never give up. I had nobody, and now I have a whole family." Nancy replied saying, "She's got a whopper of a family."

According to WRAL, Nancy will return to Phoenix on Sunday.
