A Greensboro truck driver arrested for human trafficking of a child and abduction of a child.
GRAHAM, N.C.-- A Greensboro truck driver is facing human trafficking charges in Alamance County.
Friday afternoon, the Alamance County Sheriff's Office and the Burlington Police Department announced the arrest of 23-year-old Bryant Lamar Williamson. He is charged with Human Trafficking of a Child and Abduction of a Child.
Investigators said they have been conducting the investigation for quite some time.
Williamson is in the Alamance County Detention Center under at $250,000 secured bond. He will make his first court appearance on Monday in the Alamance County Courthouse.
Sheriff Terry Johnson said the investigation and the case is far from over and is just starting to unravel. He said the department believes this is part of a human trafficking ring. He said there could be more suspects and possibly more victims, but not necessarily in Alamance County.
Williamson is a long-haul truck driver who would regularly drive to California. Investigators would not comment on how his job could be related to his charges. Alamance County District Attorney Pat Nadolski added it's never easy to investigate human trafficking cases.
"The facts can be quite earth shattering as far as what you see and what you know happens in these types of cases," he said.
