WELDON, N.C-- Four people are facing charges in a shooting that killed a toddler and critically wounded her grandmother.

According to WRAL-TV, Weldon police charged four men Thursday night in connection to the August 5 shooting. Investigators say Dyana Anderson was asleep in a bed at her home on Cedar Street when she was shot in the face shortly after midnight.

The child's grandmother was listed in fair condition last week after being shot seven times in her head and lower body.

With assistance from the State Bureau of Investigation and Roanoke Rapids police, Weldon police on Thursday arrested Jamonte Lamoncion Moody, Semajs Short, William David Cook and Victor Mallory, the station reports.

All four have been charged with First-Degree Murder and Attempted First-Degree Murder in the incident, Weldon Police Chief Mark Macon said Friday. They men are in the Halifax County jail with no bond.
