Community Spreads Positive Behavior Downtown Greensboro
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Police and local groups are reaching out to young people to help keep them safe this summer.
The department partnered with local groups like Malachi House, Mount Zion Baptist Church, 7th Day Adventist and the Chosen 50 for "The Movement." The groups walked downtown this summer to connect with youth and promote positive behavior. Organizers said they saw a difference.
"Most of them are very receptive," Cedric Parker, a member of The Movement said. " They listen and some have been curious about what we're doing."
Parker also said the program has gotten a lot of feed back and it's important to never underestimate the power of a conversation.
This week wraps up the last walk-thru of downtown Greensboro.
