WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.-- Two men are facing drug charges after more than 60 marijuana plants were seized in Walnut Cove.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, Troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) alerted them on August 4 about the location of two possible marijuana grow operations in the northeast section of the county.
Deputies obtained search warrants after investigators responded to the area and found the plants growing in two locations on Dennis Road in Walnut Cove.
Investigators seized 50 marijuana plants from indoor and outdoor grow operations at one location. In addition to the marijuana plants, officers seized grow lights, pipes for irrigation, potting materials, prescription medication and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Officers arrested and charged Jonathan Dane Davis, 28, with Trafficking in Marijuana, Maintaining a Dwelling/Place for Manufacture of Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
At the second location, vice/narcotics officers found an outdoor grow operation and seized 14 marijuana plants, a stolen handgun and drug paraphernalia.
Johnny Lee Davis, 51, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Both men were placed in the Forsyth County Detention Center.
