Greensboro, N.C. -- Young dreams on the basketball court, could one day turn into college scholarships or even a professional career. The NC Court Kings know all about setting goals and they're working hard to reach them.

A portion of the Pioneers of Hip Hop concert will support the non-profit basketball club, The NC Court Kings WFMY News 2

The non-profit basketball club is a competitive basketball program dedicated to preparing young boys to be community leaders through athletics, academic achievement and community service.

Members of the team played a pick-up game with WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain on the Good Morning Show and talked about their Division 1 goals.

"I want to play ball in college and then go on to play professionally," said Jordan Harris. "I want to help my mom out financially and get scholarships."

"My parents put so much into helping me reach my dream," said another team member. "Time, money, everything."

In addition to playing with their high school, the student-athletes joined the basketball club to get exposure at tournaments in the hopes their talent nabs a recruiter's attention.

But it pays to play. Some of the registration fees for these tournaments cost hundreds of dollars per player. The NC Court Kings are asking for the communities support.

And if you're a fan of hip hop, you get a bonus. You can support the NC Court Kings Basketball Club by attending next Friday's Pioneers of Hip Hop concert.

Portions of the proceeds will benefit the non-profit basketball club. The concert features Big Daddy Kane, Kwame, Special Ed and more. The concert is at War Memorial Auditorium on April 11, 2014. You can get your concert tickets, by clicking here.
