JAMESTOWN, N.C. - April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. To raise awareness about child abuse, the Greater High Point YMCA is hosting a free event in Jamestown on Saturday, April 26th at High Point City Lake Park from 10am-2pm.
There will be a Pinwheel garden planting that will begin at 10:00 am to honor children lost to child abuse. The Blue and Silver Pinwheel is the National symbol for Child Abuse Prevention Month. There will also be a food, a large bounce house, a rock climbing wall, basketball, inflatable slides, carnival games, face painting and much more.
Senator Gladys Robinson will speak about her on going effort's to bring Erin's Law to N.C. Leslie Davenport, Grandmother of the late Kilah Davenport, and founder of Kilah's Law will also be a guest speaker. She will speak about Kilah and the Foundation's next steps in taking the Law to the Federal Level.
