GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Piedmont Triad Business Showcase--the Triad's largest business trade show--opened Thursday morning at the Greensboro Coliseum's Special Events Center.

"You can't miss out on good opportunities," explained showcase attendee Will Berry, the vice president of operations for Berico Fuels.

The Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, which puts on the event, said more than 130 vendors and 2,000 people are expected to attend this year. Most of the businesses are based in the Triad.

The Piedmont Triad Business Showcase is free and open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 15.

Joe Rainey, a document management specialist with Kelly Office Solutions, said the showcase is a premier opportunity for vendors to network not only with customers but also with each other. Kelly Office Solutions has been based in the Triad since the company launched in 1947, and he said the showcase exemplifies how the Triad continues to be a great hub for business ventures.

Marisa Marino, the catering marketing manager for Newk's Eatery (new to Greensboro as of 2013), said her restaurant is new to the trade show this year. Both she and Ryan Bowles, an account executive of longtime show case attendee Beacon Technologies, said they recognize the value of of attending the prestigious event and intend to continue turning out at the trade show.
