Greensboro -- Seven weeks of competition. Sixteen local chefs went to head-to-head preparing three-course meals in the Fire In The Triad competition. Each week, they had to use different secret ingredients -- all native to North Carolina. Last night it was down to two:Chef Richard Miller (@spreadhead0402) of Graze in Winston-Salem and Chef Tim Thompson (@Chef_T_Thompson) of Marisol in Greensboro.

The winner was Chef Tim Thompson of Marisol and he joined Jackie Fernandez on the Good Morning Show!

The secret ingredients for the championship meal were beer and bacon! So Thompson and his team prepared:

-Dijon & CheshirePork Bacon Panko Crusted NC Flounder, Pan Seared Scallop

- Foothills Beer Cottonwood Low Down Brown Braised Cheshire Pork Shoulder, with Bacon Lardon

-Hoppyum 3 Way Chocolate Patè, Raspberry Hoppyum Curd, Toasted Pistachio & CheshirePork Pig Candy

With the Fire In The Triad Title came $2,000, a handmade chef knife, and the coveted Red Chef jacket. And in November, he'll face off against the top chefs from around the state.
