GREENSBORO, NC -- You might be taking a summer vacation, but hunger doesn't take a vacation. In fact, there are families right here in the Triad that deal with hunger every hour of every day.
Now is the time for you to help. Greensboro Urban Ministry is teaming up with a slew of partners for a community-wide food drive. It's called "Feeding the 5,000."
The drive seeks to provide freedom from hunger by "Feeding the 5,000" and collecting 90,000 pounds of food.
You can donate at Greensboro Urban Ministry or at any of the following Greensboro locations between now and August 10th:
• City of Greensboro Offices
• First Lutheran Church
• First Presbyterian Church
• Friendly Avenue Baptist Church
• Grace Church United Methodist
• Greensboro Chamber of Commerce
• New Garden Friends Meeting
• Starmount Presbyterian
• VF Corporation
• West Market Street UMC
If you're interested in hosting your own Freedom from Hunger Food Drive at your place of work or faith community, you can contact Val Marshall, Greensboro Urban Ministry Food Bank Office Manager, 336.553.2672, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
