Greensboro, N.C. -- You have probably never heard of the Greensboro non-profit Dance Project, Inc. But to a group of dancers, the school and its programs mean everything.

The Dance Project, Inc. is in danger of losing programs because of funding.

Lauren Trollinger is the School Director of the Dance Project and the School at City Arts.

Trollinger brought some of the group's youth dancers to the Good Morning Show to perform and ask for donations.

"Times are hard, especially for non-profit arts organizations," she said. "This past fiscal year was particularly hard for the Dance Project. We need help closing a $10,000 budget gap."

Trollinger says in order to start the new fiscal year on the right foot, without carrying over any deficits, they need to raise $10,000 by July 31, 2014. Without reaching that goal, the school and its programs will be at risk of closure.

"With that we can still conduct our programs, pay our staff, teachers, and choreographer," said Trollinger.

The non-profit proudly provides access to dance to community members regardless of socioeconomic status. It's been apart of the Greensboro community for 25 years and the group is trying everything to keep its programs running.

"It started with the North Carolina Dance Festival, then through the presentation for professional modern dance in Greensboro through the Van Dyke Dance Group," she said. "Through this we've been able to run one of the few non-profit dance schools in the area, the Dance Project, Inc. at the School at City Arts."

The Dance Project, which is a 501-c3 corporation needs your help, right Now. They need to raise $10,000 by July 31, 2014.
