HIGH POINT, NC -- It's something a lot of us use and we don't even think twice about it: Over-The-Counter (OTC) medicine.
If you have a headache, you pop a couple pain killers. Or if your child has a cold, you give them some cold medicine.
But those OTC medications are expensive and too many families don't have that luxury.
That's why NC MedAssist is trying to help with a OTC Medicine Program and a Giveaway Day.
On Friday, July 25, NC MedAssist will be giving away free OTC medicine to those in need in the Piedmont Triad area.
Each individual will receive up to 5 over the counter medicines.
There is no eligibility requirement for the OTC Medicine Program and there won't be any income verification on Giveaway day.
People will have to fill out a form with their name and circle the items they need. A signature will also be required to confirm that they will only use the items for their medical benefit.
The Giveaway Day is Friday, July 25 from 10AM until 3PM.
It's the outreach center at First Presbyterian Church, which is 918 North Main Street in High Point.
