A cooking class teaching kids how to prepare healthy and safe lunches.
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- You can teach your kid how to pack the perfect lunch this Friday in Alamance County.
Susan Holland stopped by The Good Morning Show to give you a preview. She says getting your kids involved in preparing their own lunch promotes healthy habits for the rest of their lives. She encourages her own kids to cut their own veggies and make their own sandwiches.
Holland says the key is using fruits and vegetables that are colorful and appealing to the eye. She also insists on safety. One sure way to prevent food from spoiling is to put a freezer pack inside the lunch box. An easy way to do this is by freezing a juice box.
If you would like to attend the "Back To School Lunchbox Class" it is Friday, August 22nd at The Captain White House on 213 South Main Street in Graham. The class is from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. It costs $30 for Alamance Arts members and $35 for non-members. Please call Alamance Arts at 336-226-4495 if you have any questions.
