PIEDMONT TRAID, NC -- Labor Day means summer is about over but for thousands of Triad children, summer was over when they started school last week.
Virtually all these children are facing some kind of changes this school year: maybe new teachers, new classrooms, or even new schools.
Dr. Nannette Funderburk with The Social and Emotional Learning Group was on the Good Morning Show with Faith Abubey to talk about those changes and help kids and parents adjust smoothly.
Funderburk discussed tips for dealing with children's anxiety about bullying, new teachers and academic workload. She also discussed how parents can control their emotions when they start to experience the so-called "empty nest syndrome."
