A judge has denied a New Jersey teen's preliminary requests for child support and access to her college funds. Rachel Canning sued her parents, claiming they threw her out because they didn't approve of her boyfriend.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. -- A judge denied an teen's preliminary request Tuesday for weekly child support.

Judge Peter Bogaard of Morris County Superior Court's Family Division said no to 18-year-old Rachel Canning's initial request.

However, he scheduled another hearing for April 22. At the hearing, a decision will be made whether the Catholic high school cheerleader and lacrosse player was constructively abandoned by her parents and left or if she chose to become independent.
