NORTH CAROLINA -- Senator Hagan had an emergency eye surgery to correct an eye condition that has worsened overtime.
Her Communications Director, Amber Moon, tells WFMY New 2 Senator Hagan delayed the surgery to be in Washington this week. "In order to be present for work this week in Washington D.C, she delayed the procedure for as long as possible," Moon said. "However, she was not able to put it off any longer and was forced to leave last night [Friday] to be in North Carolina for the procedure first thing this [Saturday] morning."
The senator reduced her schedule for a few days. However, her office expects she will be fully recovered by the middle of next week.
Hagan's office didn't release information on what type of eye condition the Senator had.
She's now recovering at her Greensboro home.
