PIEDMONT, N.C. -- It's hard to forget the big upset Friday when Duke lost to Mercer.

And, one of Mercer's team members is from right here in the Piedmont.

Ike Nwamu plays for Mercer. He graduated from Westchester Country Day School in High Point.

Nwamu started playing when he was just 5 years old. That's when he told his mom he wanted to be like Michael Jordan.

Nwamu started training with Phil Tockman when he was just 10 years old. Tockman was also in the stands against Duke, cheering him on and says he was happy he got to watch Nwamu do what he loves in front of his friends and family -- and in his home state.

Take a look at the video above to hear Nwamu's family talk about what it means to see him succeed on the court.
