WASHINGTON, D.C. -- NASCAR's Jimmie Johnson and his Hendrick Motorsports team will make a pit stop at the White House. President Obama plans to honor his 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship.

Johnson and his team will visit the White House for the honor on Wednesday, June 25.

President Obama started the tradition of honoring athletes and sports teams for their efforts to give back to their communities.
