Wyndham Championship fans were out in full force on Saturday. Folks were not just out watching the players on the green but enjoying the fan areas and vendors at Sedgefield Country Club.
GREENSBORO, NC -- Golf fans were out in full force enjoying Day 3 of the Wyndham Championship, Saturday.
"It's has gotten not but bigger and better," said Dennis Farley, a Triad golf fan.
All the spectators weren't just watching the pros on the green. WFMY News 2 spoke with people enjoying the fan areas and vendors Saturday.
"It's a great time and there lots of great food," said Dennis Farley, who is from High Point. "And there are always great golfers here. It's not a tournament where it is real boring. It's a blast when you are here."
According to Wyndham Championship organizers, the Greensboro PGA stop attracting more than 80,000 spectators each year.
The Wyndham Championship offers a week full of championship golf, family-fun activities, prizes,and charitable giving to support the community. For many fans, attending the tournament is their last escape of the summer. For the PGA TOUR players, it's the final stop before the playoffs and is seen as a "must-play" for those looking to win points before the FedEx Cup.
The Wyndham Championship is held annually at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. This is the 75th year for this annual event.
