RALEIGH, N.C. - North Carolina State sophomore point guard Tyler Lewis says he's transferring to Butler.
The school announced last weekend that Lewis would look to play elsewhere. In a phone interview with The Associated Press, Lewis said he looked at Purdue, Xavier, Charlotte, Gonzaga and UAB before deciding Butler was the best fit.
Lewis started the last 14 games for the Wolfpack, who upset Syracuse in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament and beat Xavier in the First Four of the NCAA tournament before falling to St. Louis. Lewis says he has "no bad feelings" about N.C. State and still loves the school. ESPN first reported Lewis' decision.
Lewis played part of his high school career in the Triad at Forsyth Country Day.
