The West Forsyth Titans defeated the Providence Panthers Wednesday night to advance to the state championship.

CLEMMONS, NC-- The West Forsyth Titans baseball team defeated the Providence Panthers Wednesday night to clinch the 4A NCHSAA Western Regional Championship.

They will advance to the state championship with a final score of 2-1.

Alex Saphar had the game winning hit for the Titans in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The other run came in the bottom of the third. West Forsyth's Tripp Shelton's RBI double scored Nick Adams to tie the game.

W. Forsyth swept the best of three game series 2-0.
