The East Surry baseball team swept Hayesville in the best of three playoff to clinch a spot in the championship.

HAYESVILLE, NC-- The East Surry baseball team swept Hayesville in the best of three playoff to clinch a spot in the championship.

Thursday night, the East Surry Cardinals defeated Hayesville 4-0 and will advance to the 1A championship baseball game.

East Davidson fell short to Bunker Hill 8-1 in the 2A semi finals bringing their season to an end.

Wednesday night, the West Forsyth Titans clinched their spot in the 4A championship game.

On the softball diamond, North Stokes lost to Hiwassee Dam 3-1 in the 1A semifinals. That ties the series 1-1 and they'll play at North Stokes Saturday.

In the 2A softball semi finals, Jordan Matthews topped Northeastern 9-2. They're moving on to the state championship game.
