Weather Summary:

We're close, but not completely out of the woods yet with this pesky storm system. Clouds, and occasional light rain and drizzle will continue tonight into the day on Monday. Finally, some sunshine will build back in and take over our weather for the rest of the week.

Our strong storm system with heavy rain is to our south, but the winds continue to howl into Central North Carolina. Expect gusts up to 35 mph to continue overnight and into the day on Monday. A Wind Advisory remains in effect. The heavy rain won't be coming back to the Triad. Still, the occasional stray shower is possible, with pesky drizzle possible at anytime through midday Monday.

The Triad is right now in a record-long streak of rainy days. We've had measurable rain 11 days in a row, which sets a new record. We could stretch that streak to 12 days with a few occasional showers and light drizzle to begin the day on Monday.

By Monday evening, dry air starts to flow back in and finally clear out our skies. Cool air will flow into the Triad as well, dropping our temps to around 50 for lows.

Sunshine makes a triumphant return on Tuesday with highs getting back into the 70s. Sunny skies will stick with us the rest of the week with lows around 50 and highs in the 70s through Saturday.

The normal high is 74, and the normal low is 53.
