Low pressure will continue to slowly move east away from the southeast U.S. coast as high pressure builds southward from New England. The high will control our weather through Tuesday morning. A cold front will move through the Piedmont Tuesday evening. High pressure will build back in for Wednesday through Friday.
Today will start cloudy. There may be a sprinkle or patch of drizzle early. Clouds will gradually clear through the day and the sky will become partly sunny. If we get enough sunshine, high temperatures will reach 65. The departing low, and high pressure building in from the north, will produce a brisk northeasterly wind at 10 mph to 20 mph. Sunday night will be mostly clear with a low 42.
Monday will be bright and sunny and high temperatures will warm into the lower 70's. Tuesday a cold approach and bring a 50% chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. The high on Tuesday will be 75. Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high of 71 on Wednesday and 73 on Thursday.
