An area of high pressure centered over the Great Lakes will continue to provide cooler than normal temperatures to the Triad through Wednesday night. Thanks to the dry and stable air associated with the area of high pressure the sky will remain clear Wednesday night as temperatures drop to around 40 degrees. Temperatures could drop into the upper 30s in rural areas and patchy frost will be possible.
The sunshine will return on Thursday as the winds begin to shift from the northwest to the southwest. This shift in flow will begin a warming trend that will take the Triad into the weekend. High temperatures Thursday will be in the low 70s and then the mid 70s Friday.
A cold front will swing through the area on Friday and bring a decent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
The normal high is 72, and the normal low is 49.
