Plenty of sunshine will dominate the southeast over the next few days, as a string of spring-like days provide relief to our winter weather woes.
Much of the United States is free of Arctic Air for the first time in several weeks. High pressure in the Gulf of Mexico will bring westerly winds into the Piedmont Monday which will deliver warm-air to the Triad. This trend will continue into Tuesday, with afternoon highs near 70 both days.
By Wednesday two weather systems will head our way. The first, an area of low pressure near the Gulf, will bring rain showers. The second, a cold front from the Great Lakes, will slide in and deliver cold air Wednesday night.
By Thursday, high temperatures will only reach the 40's with overnight lows back in the 20's. Even so, our weather will remain quiet with plenty of sunshine expected through next weekend.
Our average high is 59, our average low is 37.
