The great weather will continue for the Memorial Day weekend. Plenty of sunshine around for Memorial Day itself, but temperatures will start to creep up along with the humidity day by day throughout the course of the week. Once this happens, we'll also start to see a chance for pop-up late-day showers and storms. Still, much of the week will be dry.
High pressure remains in control heading into Memorial Day. It's centered just off the North Carolina coast in the Atlantic. This is acting as a shield, keeping any clouds and showers away from the Southeast. As long as it stays close-by, our pleasant weather will continue. For Monday, expect lots of sunshine, with highs a bit warmer into the low 80s.
Things will start to heat up a bit by mid-week as high pressure shifts farther offshore. Plan on mid 80's starting Tuesday and lasting all the way through next weekend. Our humidity will be on the increase at the same time, and a few late-day showers will be possible each day too -- mainly a threat for the Foothills and Mountains.
The normal high is 79, and the morning low is 59.
