A strong cold front moved through the Triad Tuesday evening. Temperatures ahead of the cold front we in the upper 60s to low 70s, but quickly cooled once the front moved through. Most of the Triad was already in the 40s by 6pm with even cold air on the way overnight.
By Wednesday morning temperatures will bottom out in the low 30s with many places seeing temperatures at or below freezing. As a result a Freezing Warning has been issued for the entire area from 3am-9am Wednesday. To add insult to injury the winds will remain elevated overnight and drop wind chills into the low 20s to upper teens. Temperatures will climb back above freezing after 9am and warm under abundant sunshine. High temperatures Wednesday afternoon will be in themiddle 50s.
The colder than normal air will remain in place through the rest of the week before finally warming back to near 70 degrees for the Easter Weekend.
