A strong cold front will approach the area today and move across the Piedmont this evening. Strong surface winds ahead of the front and just behind the front may gusts to near 40 mph this afternoon and evening. High pressure will bring colder, breezy and drier conditions to the area for Thursday and Friday. Temperature will be near or just above normal for the weekend. Rain chances will increase Sunday night and Monday.
