Woman Killed When Camper Crushed By Tree Knocked Down by Hurricane Matthew

CRESCENT CITY, Fla.—A woman lost her life after her camper was crushed by a falling tree knocked down by Hurricane Matthew in Crescent City Friday afternoon, authorities say.

She and a man were in the camper sometime before 3 p.m. when a tree was knocked over by the high winds. The man suffered minor injuries.

Major crimes detectives are investigating the death.

No personal information is available at this time. The couple was staying at Sned-Acres Family Campground.

This is the first local death reported during Hurricane Matthew.
