RALEIGH, N.C. -- Governor Roy Cooper provided an update on North Carolina's preparation for Hurricane Irma on Saturday morning.
He said although the track looks better for our state, North Carolinians still need to be prepared.
Cooper says the National Guard will be staging areas in Charlotte, Greensboro, and Asheville on Sunday.
NCDOT has also suspended major highway projects to allow better traffic flow for Irma evacuees.
Cooper also advised for people to be mindful at the gas pump, saying only to take what you need.
