GREENSBORO, NC -- It seems that summer itself will be taking a vacation this weekend. Heat and humidity will be on hiatus for a few days, with more comfortable air surging southward into the Carolinas.
A cold front moves through the Piedmont in the early morning hours on Saturday. After that, our humidity will slowly but surely start the fall. The morning hours will still be muggy, with some extra cloud cover and even a spotty shower, but things will improve by midday. Drier air will be felt by the end of the afternoon, and with high temperatures only around 80 degrees, it won't feel hot at all.
Don't expect Saturday to have beautiful blue skies. There will be some extra clouds mixing with the sunshine at times, and we could even find a few stray showers at times, even during the afternoon and evening.
Sunday will be the picture perfect day of the weekend. Humidity will fall to fall levels, with this bone dry air providing beautiful weather all day. Morning temperatures will begin at a comfortable 60 degrees, and we'll warm up only to around 80 for the afternoon.
The low humidity will last a few more days through Monday and Tuesday, but temperatures will creep back up into the mid and upper 80s through the rest of the week.
