ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NC -- Another round of storms brought torrential rain and flooded out parts of western Rockingham County Friday night. This is a developing situation.
Only River Road in Madison remains closed due to flooding in Rockingham County, according to EMS.
Flooded roadways were reported in Madison before midnight Friday, with several streets overtaken by water. Torrential rain hit the area between 10pm and 11:30, bringing between 1" and 3" of water.

Early reports said that storm drains were overtaken by water, flooding the downtown area, threatening businesses.
A Flash Flood Warning was issued and will continue until 3:15 Saturday morning. Please remember to avoid any flooded roadways at all costs, and to never drive through a flood.

This area is prone to flooding. Downtown Madison flooded back on May 31st, causing significant damage to businesses in the downtown area.
