Here's an evening update from Meghann Mollerus detailing the strong wind gusts Matthew is bringing to the coast. The town issued a 8 p.m. curfew for its residents.

Tim Buckley caught video of the ocean reaching the dunes along Oak Island. The area went under a flood warning. Some roads started to see patches of flooding late Saturday morning.
Meghann Mollerus met a Greensboro couple. The Carrolls are from the Triad but now live in Oak Island full time. They are stocked up on emergency supplies and waiting out Hurricane Matthew.
Chad Silber caught video of what looks like a piece of pier or beach access. Strong winds carried it to shore Saturday morning.
