Tropical Depression #16 Forms In Caribbean; Triad Could Get Rain

Tropical Depression #16 has formed in the SW Caribbean Sea. It will move into the Gulf Of Mexico this weekend, before making landfall along the gulf coast as a tropical storm or a hurricane. Here's the latest forecast cone.

Here in the Piedmont, this system may bring us some rain Sunday and Monday. 1-2" of rain will be possible in that timeframe across most of the area, with higher amounts in the mountains.

Otherwise, the worst of the weather will stay away from us. So no need to worry too much about this system here in North Carolina right now. Things could change, so we'll keep an eye on it for you.
