Arielle Cadet is the weekend anchor and VERIFY multi-skilled journalist at WFMY News 2. She joined the team in May 2022 with excitement about what the Triad has to explore.

She grew up in Atlanta and is happy to return to the southeast, close to her family and friends.

Before coming to Greensboro, Arielle was the weekend anchor at ABC 21 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. While in Fort Wayne, she reported on many events such as the George Floyd protests in 2020. She also reported live from a Trump Rally in Toledo, Ohio. Arielle found her love for investigative journalism while in Fort Wayne and told the community’s stories as part of the station’s digging deeper brand.

Arielle graduated from the University of Missouri in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in french. While at Mizzou, she was a member of the University’s Tour Team and part of the campus’ chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists. She also worked as a reporter, anchor, and producer at the university’s local NBC affiliate KOMU 8.

In 2018, Arielle got the chance to spend the summer in London and intern at London Live. While studying abroad, she was able to learn from British journalists and connect with a new community of people overseas. She also fell in love with the culture and beauty of the city.

Arielle is a huge musical theater fan and will never pass up the opportunity to sing a show tune or two. When she’s not working, she loves to go to the gym, spend quality time with her puppy, Blair, and hang out with friends and family.
