Jenna Kurzyna

Jenna Kurzyna is an award-winning journalist who's covered several deep-dive stories, including an investigation into the Columbia Housing Authority.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Jenna Kurzyna is an award-winning multi-skilled journalist who joined the WFMY News 2 team in June 2021. As a North Carolina native, she is excited to return to the Tar Heel state.

Prior to joining WFMY, Jenna worked as a reporter and anchor in Columbia, SC at WLTX. During her time in Columbia, she covered several deep-dive stories, including an investigation into the Columbia Housing Authority following the deaths of two men. They died in their own apartments from carbon-monoxide poison. During the investigation, maintenance records revealed years of issues with properly maintaining the property, included many previously reported gas leaks.

She won an Edward R. Murrow Award for her continued coverage on the deadly incident as well as a South Carolina Broadcast Association Star Merit Award.

Jenna is a member of the TEGNA travel team- she went to Charlotte to help with snowstorm coverage. She also traveled to Virginia Beach in 2019 to cover the devastating mass shooting at the municipal building.

Jenna graduated from UNC-Wilmington in May 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and a minor in journalism.

She loves traveling and the outdoors. When not at work you can find her hiking, trying out a new coffee shop, or exploring new cities.
