Jessica Mensch joined the WFMY News 2 team in June 2015 as a multimedia journalist.

Jessica is an award-winning journalist who has been honored with an EMMY Award and a Heart of America Award from the Kansas City Press Club. Born and raised in Chandler, Arizona, Jessica left the Grand Canyon State and headed to the Midwest for college. She earned bachelor degrees in Journalism and Psychology from the University of Missouri. While at Mizzou, she worked as a reporter and anchor at Mid-Missouri's NBC affiliate, KOMU 8 News.

During her time at KOMU 8 News, Jessica specialized in political and investigative reporting. She covered a wide variety of topics ranging from synthetic drug use to therapeutic horseback riding. She also worked as a Capitol Bureau Reporting Fellow for KMOX News Radio, where she covered hot-button government issues such as gun rights and Medicaid.

When she's not out chasing the latest news story, you will find Jessica exploring the town. She loves checking out new restaurants and local bands. Jessica is a self-proclaimed theater nerd, and loves to see shows in her free time.
