GREENSBORO, N.C. — Tanya Rivera has a passion for helping people. This is why she is the right journalist and anchor and be the executive producer for the 2 Wants To Know newscast at 5:30 p.m. The daily, half-hour newscast is dedicated to solving problems for our viewers, keeping more money in their pockets, and uncovering problems that affect everyday life.
Tanya is a two-time Emmy Award-winning journalist for her reporting and special 2 Wants To Know investigations. The 2WTK Apartment X investigation showed the Triad how internet sex predators were right in their backyard or were willing to travel to our hometowns to prey on and hurt our children.
Joining WFMY News 2 in the February of 2002, Tanya says she knew from a very young age that broadcasting was for her. She worked for a kid's news show in Miami when she was ten and that love of broadcasting took her to the University of Florida. (Tanya is such an avid fan you can almost hear her yelling "GO GATORS" right now!)

If you weren't on television news, what would you do for a living?
Event/Wedding Planner. I love "themed" stuff and figuring out how to make events larger than life. It's fun and creative and I get to use a glue gun!
Name one of your role models.
My parents. Both went back to school after I was born. They worked full time, went to school full time, and cared for me full time! They taught me (through their actions) to work hard, play hard and treat others the way I would want to be treated.
What are your pet peeves?
People who whistle and jingle change in their pockets!!!!!!!
What is your favorite food?
Roast beef, mashed potatoes, and gravy. Throw in a yummy yeast roll and I'll make dessert!
What are your hobbies?
Adventure experiences are a priority. I love to travel, see new places & eat at the local hole-in-the-wall spots. My latest travels include driving down the Pacific Coast Highway, walking through vineyards in Napa Valley, navigating the cobblestone streets of Edinburgh, Scotland, and seeing London at 400 feet through the London Eye.
