Summer weekend with heat and humidity

Storm chances stay low through Sunday

Today: Partly Sunny. Mainly Dry. High 88.

Tonight: Mostly Clear. Low 68.

Sunday: Partly Sunny. Isolated Storm. High 89.

Monday: Partly Cloudy. Scattered Storms. High 83.

Tuesday: Partly Cloudy. P.M. Storms. High 77.

Heat and humidity are partners once again for hot and sticky weather over the next few days. High pressure will be the main feature on the weather map for central North Carolina over the next few days which lends itself to a mainly dry weather set up for us through Sunday. A cold front is trying to push through the mountains into the Piedmont but will washout before it arrives. Most of us stray completely dry today, with only a low chance of a stray shower or storm, and that chance mainly will be in our west, closer to the dissolving front.

Go ahead with weekend outdoor plans, as rain chances remain low. Afternoon high temperatures will hover around 90 each day. By late Sunday night another cold front will begin to approach our area which may fire off a few isolated storms, but the better chance for rain comes on Monday with scattered storms likely as the front pushes through. Our area is in need of a good even rain, but that's hard to come by right now.

The normal high is 87, and the normal low is 67.
