LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Rodney Smith Jr. of 50 States 50 Lawns has made his way to Little Rock where he will spend the day mowing lawns for those unable to do it themselves.

While here, he met up with North Little Rock police officer Tommy Norman to help those in his neighborhood.

This man is AMAZING! As part of his 50 lawns/50 states tour, @rodneysmithjr made a stop in Arkansas & mowed Jessie & Ronika’s lawn this morning! Thank you for your service @rodneysmithjr 🙌🏽💪🏽 Would everyone please take a second to thank @rodneysmithjr for his heroism!

Smith will be in Little Rock and North Little Rock today, June 17, before he continues his adventures in Oklahoma.

This is Smith's second year to travel across the nation to offer free services for the elderly, disabled, single moms and veterans.

According to the 50 States 50 Lawns website, Smith's mission is centered around three main goals:

1. To teach kids about lawn mower safety

2. To talk to kids about the importance community service

3. To encourage kids to take up the 50-yard challenge.

In addition to going to each state mowing lawns, I plan to stop at schools and community organizations to talk to kids about lawn mower safety, community service and the 50-yard challenge. I also plan to have at least 1-2 kids at each lawn, if possible. I believe it is critical that kids get involved with doing community service and move away from playing video games and staying inside the house all the time.

The 28-year-old Alabaman is also encouraging kids to get involved with the 50-yard challenge. The challenge is through Raising Men Lawn Care Services, which Smith founded.

The challenges is asking kids to cut 50 lawns for free, during which they can receive free t-shirts, sunglasses and ear protection. If someone completes the challenge, the organization will give them a free lawnmower, among other gifts.

Smith will continue on to Oklahoma City tomorrow.
