RALEIGH, NC - Someone in North Carolina can possibly win a historical amount of money with the Cash 5 jackpot on Friday.
The jackpot is estimated at $1.4 million, which is the largest in the game's history.
The previous record was $1.35 million, which lasted for more than six years. This is only the fifth time in more than 10 years the jackpot has rolled into seven-figure territory.
The odds of winning are 1 in 749,398 Friday night - and you need a ticket that matches all five numbers in the drawing that will take place at 11:22 p.m.
Winners have 180 days to claim prizes. Prizes of $100,000 or more must be claimed at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. Monday is the first day that players can visit the lottery’s new Raleigh claims center located at 2728 Capital Boulevard.
