GREENSBORO, NC (WFMY) -- The Greensboro Police Department in conjunction with serval others partnered up Saturday for the annual Operation PASS (Partners Advocating of Students Success) event!

The goal of the Operation PASS which began in 2011, is to help more than 2,000 children in need of school supplies.

The event took place at the Greensboro Coliseum and attracted many young students eager stack up on supplies for the upcoming school year.

The event not only helped students but parents as well!

"The fact that they're doing this, it's just helping more parents. Because some parents don't have money to provide these things," said Staci Walden, a parent at Saturday's event.

Now we can only hope that this great cause translates over into the classroom, we're believing it will!
