'I Knew I Was Getting Ready to Get My Life Back:' The Moment a Triad Veteran Met His Service Dog

US Army veteran Keith Harrison just returned home with his new service dog "Sookie" after training with her in Florida.

A Triad veteran says he's ready to live his life with a new four-legged friend by his side.

Keith Harrison returned to Greensboro on Thursday after a trip to Florida, where he met and trained with his new service dog "Sookie."

Harrison served 24 years in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. He deals with migraines and PTSD, but now, Sookie is going to be there to help him cope.

"It was like - finally," Harrison described about meeting Sookie for the first time. "I knew I was getting ready to get my life back again."

Harrison says thanks to Sookie, he's ready to go fishing, play golf, and volunteer to help other veterans even more.
