Sometimes all you need to brighten up your day is a little "thank you".

A police officer in Kernersville found a small thank you note, waiting on the windshield of his cruiser Friday. All it said, "Thank you for your service."

A short message. A simple message; with a lot of heart.

The town of Kernersville posted the picture on their Facebook page, and started garnering the likes and supportive comments, echoing the note's message.

"It is very, very fulfilling to be thanked for a job," Officer Blake Jones says, "Everybody in the community loves to be thanked for what they do. Police officers are often dealing with the bad part of things or the negative. Even though there is a lot of positive, people don't usually call us when things are going good."

Officer Jones says the department sees many messages like these in Kernersville. Some true southern hospitality.
